A quick resume of todays action!
Open division
In the open draw the first round went as expected, with the tightest game happening between Moscow and Raging Seagulls. Moscow eventually prevailed 13-11.
The second round produced the kind of match-ups that the swiss draw is good for with some very tight games. None were tighter than the battle between the top ranked teams Ragnarok and Flying Angels Bern. Flying Angels coming back from 8-9 down at time cap to win 10-9. The less said about this the better.
Moving to tomorrow this gives the boys from Bern the chance to take on the defending champions Viksjofors, who had two comfortable wins today. Currently there is a clear top 4 with Helsinki joining Viksjofors, Ragnarok and Flying Angels with a jump to the next rank of teams. Lets see if they can push their way up before the quarters.
Women’s division
For the women, again most results went as expected. Pool A played out fairly stably with Iceni beating the two danish teams. Copenhagen beat Team 1935 in the battle of East v West to move into the middle pool tomorrow.
Pool B also had its results go to seeding with Finland joining Iceni tomorrow and Moon Landing beating out the young Swedes in Victorious Secrets. In Pool C there was an upset with the 7 players of Cosmic Girls taking out Jinx 11-9. Lotus comfortably beat both teams with Jinx obviously a bit downhearted and going down 15-2 in the show game. Tomorrows pools should have some exciting close games, especially with the teams in Pool Z battling to make the Quarter Finals.
Cocio Crash
Finally congratulations to Svenne, winner of the Cocio crash for the second year running. Nobody downs good chocolate milk like our big viking.
